The characters of ONUS drive this layered story of want and need, desire and fate. They create a vibrant world where Witches, Demons, Werewolves, Angels, and Vampires could really exist along side humans. I have forgone the traditional story arc to let the characters speak at their own pace.

ONUS is a new group of often dark characters. The interaction with most of them is very voyeuristic, while I rarely hear their inner thoughts, they often explain what they want me to understand. The witches are the most secretive by far, the demons are quite the opposite.

Being dropped into the middle of their secret lives I was expected to already know their customs or catch up quickly. If I am in the process at all you would find me in the background with a notebook trying to keep up and translate the scenes.

 

The fables and rhymes in the story are automatic writing episodes. A lyrical rhyme begins or ends most of my sessions for this project. The voice that narrates these words is Alerie's, though much older and wiser sounding then she appears to me now.

 

I can hardly wait to see what she becomes at the end of this tale. There are four books in this series now with a second series in the works that deals with the next generation of characters.

 

The Grove, The Yolk, and The White are where I spend my time when I enter my meditative state.  I had never named these spaces before but I believe this waking dream state is the space where Alerie found me.
